We make at least one stop in each state, with overnight stops in all states except maybe not Mississippi (we'll be driving the length of that state from NO to Memphis, I hope the floodwaters have gone by then!).

Actually I'm going on a Trek America tour, which makes it a bit hard to meet folk . I'll be returning to America pretty soon, I hope, maybe for a working holiday, and that time it'll be a self-guided tour. I am meeting one friend in LA though which will be great. I would have liked it if you could show me some great Mexican food! I'm sure I'll taste some real Mexican, though.
This comment alone epitomises why Americans are often given flack. The "net" is not American slang, its used widely around the English speaking world and refers to the internet. You know English the laungauge you are speaking that comes from ENGLAND not the US
As a Kiwi (FYI New Zealander) reading and laughing at this thread, I think what Americans are largely famous for is ignorance in the nicest possible way. Basically very little knowledge of other countries outside "the good old USA".
I suspect you are trolling to get a few Aussies backs up, at least I hope so for your sakes and you really dont think like this lol
Australia doesnt look like a cheap America, it looks like Australia.

I am ignorant of Australia I am not going to pretend I do know about the place. Im just going off of what Americans who did live in Oz told me. As for not knowing about anything outside the US of A,not much of other cultures seep into mainstream America besides Mexican and Italian. We Americans are ignorant of the world, like most people are who do not actually get to live in other countries for long periods of time.
Im sure you know allot about the U.S. from living here?
Yes, I wouldn't know the first thing when it comes to Mexican. Hopefully the restaurant guides will also come in handy.
Try chile rellenos (I crave them!) - chilies stuffed with cheese. And ceviche as a starter - marinated raw fish. Mole is very nice too - crazy combo of chile, spices and chocolate but it works. And green chile in the Southwest - another of my cravings.
I'm suddenly very starving
