I agree with others that it would be extremely unlikely for a volcano to erupt in Australia but "IF" one did (i.e a very big if), it seems it would be likely to be part of the Mt Gambier chain:

Of course, those in NZ would be far more likely to experience a volcanic eruption.

Next time anyone goes to NZ, they could go and climb a nice dormant volcano for a bit of fun - in the 70s, I went on a bushwalk on Rangitoto and found it very interesting.

Here is a chart of earthquake zones in Australia:

In Victoria, I think it is near Moe. In NSW, there is a very earthquake prone area just west of Canberra that is concentrated around two tiny towns.
