That show is on before Crownies but I've never seen it. Am I right in understanding that the premise of the show is a kid gets slapped by an adult at a barbeque and this causes a "butterfly effect" of some sort?
Yep, something like that, not his kid... The book has been very popular too.

Although it was not a cinema realease The Bangkok Hilton is another great one with Nicole in it, watching thoes films reminds you why she became famous in the first place.
I loved Red Dog by the way.
Bangkok Hilton was heart-stopping stuff...sad that Nicole went downhill from there though, imo.

I think almost all my faves have been listed...an interesting film, I wouldn't say it's my favourite, is the FJ Holden...it's interesting because it's shot in almost documentary style, about teens in the Western suburbs of Sydney in the late 1970s. It was filmed in 1976 and released in 1977. It gives you a 'slice of life' window into the life of Aussie teens in the 70s. Well worth checking out. A similar film is 'Puberty Blues' also set in Sydney but in more affluent Cronulla. I liked the characters etc in the FJ Holden more but Puberty Blues is also interesting as like many Aussie films it's reflective of the times. The 70s and 80s were no doubt the peak of Aussie cinema with directors like Peter Weir and Bruce Beresford. Another one not mentioned I think was 'Monkey Wrench.' Seeing Noni Hazelhurst nude kind of conflicted with my idea of her as the mumsy presenter of Playschool lol.
I think Mad Max is overrated, as is Australia (but then again most of Australia agrees with the latter). I guess it did have some entertainment value, though.
I saw 'Two Fists One Heart' recently...anyone seen it? Solely because it was set in Perth and I hardly know any films set in Perth. It was actually quite enjoyable.
One highly acclaimed film I found a bit of a snooze was 'Picnic at Hanging Rock' but it was kinda creepy. 'Walkabout' (1971) is a pretty good film. The Adventures of Barry McKenzie was somewhat amusing.
The fairly recent comedy 'Crackerjack' is good for a few laughs.
In McLeods Daughters, the scenery is pretty cool, but I could never get into the story lines, just seemed like too much of soap opera to me. I think I've only been able to watch one episode thru to the end.
Vietnam, I remember that miniseries, it was on American TV 20 years ago.
I pretty much watched it not listening to dialog. I'd fast forward to see the scenery. The last 2-3 series were pretty lame, but at least the scenery was sunny and nice.

Same actors too lol...it seems half the well known movies feature Gary Sweet, William McInnes, Sigrid Thornton or something, and half the TV shows Lisa McCune lol.
