Let me say from the outset that I have no connection whatsoever to the Byron Bay beer brewers Stone & Wood. But this week I read that their Pacific Ale had been voted the best craft beer in the country. Had never tried this brew but had heard of it so I hot-footed it to a local liquor outlet to grab some yesterday arvo.

Out of luck with the prize-winning Pavific Ale, I managed to grab a 6 pack of the standard Stome & Wood Ale. What brew, lovely hops and malt flavours and no bitter after-taste. My wife who rarely drinks beer gave it a shot and said it was the best beer she had ever drunk! Big call.

Now I have to carry out a recon mission to see if I can find the legenday Pacific Ale and see what all the hullabaloo is about.

Here's a link to the Stone & Wood's site about the big win http://stoneandwood.com.au/blog/ Cheers!!!

There is a beer called Black Baron, comes in a 4 pack. I usually prefer wine, but this is, quite possibly, the best beer I have ever tasted. I was however oiling my deck that summer's day, so ..
