You might pay $10 for a pint of "poshy" european larger in an upmarket city pub/club or "Gentlemens Club" hear, but i dont think ive ever paid $10 for a pint in Australia in my life.

What do they do? ship the gold from Kalgoolie and line the beer kegs with it?

Yes gold lined and diamond studded lol
Perth pubs argue that the reason you have cheaper booze in the eastern states is because bars/clubs there are allowed pokies. In WA the only place that's allowed pokies is the casino.
But yes the beer prices are a joke in Perth.

Yep.$11+ normal here in Perth. Have found cheaper in a few suburban dives but really who want to drink at such a location.
Perth is rip off ville for any number of things all put down to the mining boom.

Not just the beer but the food too. When I was in Melbourne, I found pub food to be at least $3-$8 cheaper a plate there than in Perth and oftentimes more creative and fresh and better prepared. Some pub food in Perth can be downright dismal. It's not a cheap place, Perth. Very nice in many ways, and worth the experience, at least for a few years. I certainly miss those consistent and stunning blue skies!
