The laws in Ireland are archaic and of course Catholicism is run by single men what do you expect. Time for the women of Ireland to take control and not be dictated to by a religion.
Don't worry nzrugby this won't be allowed to happen in Aus. women won't let it.

The Catholic church needs to hurry up and self-destruct already.
It's old, it's annoying, and it's influence is waning.

Let's move on to a better religion. This one sucks.

Attacking a religion is idiotic.....it's the power structure that's corrupting: power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Why dont politician prosecute the bishops who coverup the crimes? because they are all white men.

For the rest of us, I'm glad I live in a country where my rights are not dictated by the "religion" of some.

I see that the Irish women have protested their personal health rights, about time . Good for them
Well I think it was wrong for the woman to be refused abortion and such a case would not happen in Australia these days, yet I would not classify the Church as a evil institution.

Despite some really bad publicity with the Catholic Church such as this and the Sexual Abuse there is also good that originated in it such as certain Charity organisations that originated in it. With it there has been selfless people that have devoted to help the poorest of the poor all of their working lives such as Mother Terisa. In addition the worlds first Universities were founded by the Catholic Church.

You can do good things for others without a church.

There is corruption rife thru the church, and a church that thinks its image & protection of criminals is more important than truth, and support for victims is not for me - regardless of the perceived "good" they do.
