HI, I am an American man in my young 30's Looking to start a new life for me and my children in Australia. I have 3 small children who are american born, and we are currently living in Brazil. Through some unfortunate turn of events, I got divorced and have full custody, and the current circumstances here are forcing me to relocate with my children. I would just like to know which parts of Australia I could easiest find jobs in, as well as provide the best family life I can for my children. Unfortunately, I have no higher education ,but did have a successful 6-figure business in the USA, and have extensive experience in management and high end customer service. Any and all opinions and tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Did you start with the Australian immigration web site to see if you qualify?

Yes, I am exploring a few possible options at the moment. My options there are limited, and I'm just trying to see if the country would be a good fit for a single father of 3 small kids. It seems to have a lot to offer as far as opportunity and lifestyle, but I really am not familiar with any details regarding the country at all

Have you done an advanced search on CD.
We often times see new members creating posts about wanting to move to Oz. If people aren't jumping to the bandwagon to provide answers, its perhaps we see so many of this (new Junior Member creating thread about moving to Oz).

Recommendation
1. First google immigration Australia web site and see if you even qualify (there should be a points test of some sort)
2. If you do, do an advanced search on CD
3. If you qualify (1) and have done your CD research (2) perhaps you can post specific questions that you need answers to. There are many threads on immigration, cities, schools..

Just my .02 cents.

Even if you can get a visa -- which it doesn't sound like you will -- you should probably know that some states charge non-permanent visa holders school fees for their children. In the ACT it can be as high as $13,900/student/year. You also won't have access to Medicare, or child support allowances. Considering the cost of living in Australia, I doubt you would want to be bringing in 3 children to support.
