Default Best Area to Live in Brisbane??

I'm moving to Brisbane in January and though I will have temporary accomodations through the month of January, I need to find a place to live. There are tons of subburbs around the Brisbane CBD, but I'm not sure where exactly I want to pick an apartment. I know I'll have some time to look around, but I'd like to hear what some of y'all have to say.

Please help.

Thanks!

It all depends on where your job is located. I have friends who live in Manly now but they used to live in Greenslopes. I know Greenslopes fairly well and it's a really nice suburb. I also have other friends who live in Albion. Other friends still live in Carina. Manly is going out toward the ocean, Carina is closer in and Albion is closer still. And there are lots of areas in between. I know you'll be spending time when you get there looking for an apartment. It would be nice though if someone in Brisbane could give you a heads up on a "nice" suburb. As I say, Greenslopes is close in and you can see the city from some areas - the bus service is good too. But if you need nightlife, then somewhere near the CBD would be better. See what apartments are listed in the Brisbane newspaper for starters. Enjoy your time Down Under. And all the best with apartment hunting!
