What is the objective as you see it? Which species recover more quickly? I'm quite interested to find out what you understand about this.
There are viable alternatives to 1080, it is far from "a necessary evil" but limited public awareness and education seem to be the biggest stumbling blocks.
The objective is to achieve in a week or two, what years of ground trapping won't do -with the aim of protecting the native ecosystem diversity. Species in my area are specifically Wekas (which are prone to 1080 kill), blue ducks (which aren't), and giant snails.
Not much information on other invertebrates that I can see, but I met someone recently, who was doing research aimed at establishing a clearer picture on the impact of 1080 on them.
