Anybody been to Perth, Australia?
Is it a good place to live? Are there jobs? Do they like ex-Americans?

Family lives there,a mining boom going on right now and LOTS of work.
Housing prices are supposedly high.
We visited over 10 years ago and loved it.

My roomate in college was from Perth, Western Australia. It's a city of about 1.6 million people, similar to San Diego's climate. It's the most isolated capital city in the world. Very clean city. It's one of the places i want to travel to someday. But it would cost a fortune.

Perth people love Americans.
It's a great place too live, Nice weather, Great Coastline..... And certainly plenty of work, You can even do "Fly In, Fly Out" work to the Iron Ore mines, Up in the North of the state If you want?

Perth is a great city! Really laid back but with all the mod cons.
My kind of town, well my other kind of town!

Perth and it's surrounds are pretty flat!...There is a small escarpment to the East, Known as the "Darling Scarp/Darling Range/Perth Hills/The Hills" that the city backs onto, However the hills aren't all that steep and there's Suburbs and walking trails amongst them.
The 'Hills', Pretty much Seperate the Costal Plain, From the vast Rural areas further inland.
Here some good pictures of the walking trials around the 'Hills' area, With some pictures looking back at Perth.
