Here's one. It's somewhat similar to the flag of Gabon.

I tried to roughly match the Pantone colours from the present flag and the official green and yellow. Would Australians go for something as simple as this? I'm curious to know.

I don't think Australia needs to change its flag to recognise the Dutch explorers but I have always thought that Western Australia should've been named 'new Holland'. That is what Australia was first called (even by the English) and it would have suited as it was the west coast where the Dutch landed

It's not that simple.
Lot of people say ''why don't they just replace the Union Jack with the aboriginal flag? Simple,'' Well no. What about the Torres straight islanders?
THere isn't simply 1 'indigenous' Australian flag, there's 2. That's why currently Australia a thallus has 3 flags, the standard national flag, the aboriginal flag and the Torres straight islander flag, trying to create one flag incorporating all three will make a cluttered mess. If Australia changed its flag it should just have something simple like just the southern cross
