Great pics! We're driving from Sydney to Melbourne next weekend, and you're right, NSW really needs to get its act together re: interstate roads..I mean single lane in each direction?? For a major interstate?? Come ON!
That said, can't wait to get to Melbourne..will only be there until Sunday though. Ah well, some time there is better than none..it's the cradle of civilization here in Oz!

Oh and just a tip for anyone afraid of the hook turn, just take yourself into the city around 3am on a week night, drive around and practice them.

That's what I did and I have no problems now, they're really quite simple once you get the hang of them.
when I tried it was daytime on a weekday and I had to worry about trams.. I had never been so scared!

One thing that struck me was that there weren't too many people aournd. Must be nice to live in a very large but underpopulated country.

That thing looks just like the 401 in Toronto... except you drive on the left side instead of the right.

..excepting that they drive on the wrong side of the road and play a lot of cricket.
You can blame the British for both.

It's nice to see that some people drive on the correct side of the road.

Come on you guys. You got to learn to drive on the right side, with the steering wheel on the left. Love the hiway pics. I have a cousin that builds roads and bridges here in San Antonio area.
