Each to their own and this is why people need to do their own detailed research. There are excellent museums, art galleries and civic buildings in Canberra. Just as there are eg in Ottawa (which we enjoyed more than any other Canadian city.) Let's face it, outdoor dining, good restaurants and shops are features of so many global cities it is hardly worth the trip to experience those type of things.
