Depends on who you ask. A few U.S. Southerners might consider all "American, non-Southerners" Yankee.
Californians? Yankee. Hawaiians? Yankee too. (at least in speech-patterns, this logic does make sense )

It seems pretty mild imho, both as American or Aussie.
My only criticism is that her accent might be "semi-rhotic" with words like *measureable* (found at 2:14-2:16)

Racist, not possible dear boy, I have a white English born wife.
Of course the sound of a twelve gauge Purdey being shut could have had something to do with that.

But oh dear, a NSW Premier not knowing what the term edged, means to ockers.
She is just a NSW based Palin, not enough experience to know she has been put in as a sacrificial lamb for 2011.
Still, as my Mossman mates would say, only the right wing branch of Labor would put a yank in as leader.

True Aussies prefer a Bob Hawke accent and some distance from the Catholic church.
But she will make a good little puppet.

Not really sure why we keep referencing her accent or her American links as a guide to how well she can/will perform her duties as our minister.

By all accounts, her CV is pretty impressive.

Why don't we just wait and see how she performs before we judge? It's not as if her predecessors have bestowed upon her with an impressive track record or state portfolio. They all left office or positions because their party members sidelined them. The residents of NSW didn't have to say too much.

Some of us just have to broaden our horizons a bit more. Episodes of the program "Australian Stories" have showcased Amercians who are now calling "Australia" home...they have contributed greatly to our society, particularly in the medical field.

In any case, her American linkage may help her in alleviating some of the problems we have here.

A Premier with a degree in sky fairy stories
Member of the Opus Dei ?
Think the women in the left of the Labor party will be happy about a Premier who no doubt would like to see abortion banned.
Impressive, come off it, she married into a MPs job.
Rees will make damn sure she goes down in 2011, he will show her the same loyalty she showed him.
Her American linkage will help, in what way ? telling Aussies they need birther mobs.

You seem to know more about New South Wales politics than most New South Welsh people!
Most of us just thought they were an extension of the football and cricket teams, without the charisma.

Oh, and the fact that unless something happens or needs to be done within Sydney city limits, in the view of the NSW state government, it may as well be on another planet.

Having a kid sister in the left wing of the NSW Labor party helps.
Of course being in the left wing and wanting to help the deprived means she lives in Mossman among those horny handed union types

I can hear the question flying across the house now, where does your first loyalty go, Sydney or Washington DC.
The left of the Labor party would rather go into opposition than lose the keys to the Premier's house.
She should have waited until Labour was in opposition.
Four Premiers in four years, not good.
Is she a dual-citizen? If not how is she allowed to be premier if she's not even an Australian citizen?
