Looking at relocating and just after some suggestions of places to explore on the Mid North Coast of NSW that have a great arts culture, specifically music. Not after huge venues, moreso just people to create with and jam with. Ideally a pop somewhere around 20,000 give or take and right on the coast - suggestions?

Byron Bay or Bellingen has a folk scene, while Tamworth is of course known for country music. Of those Byron is probably closest to what you're looking for.

Cheers for your suggestion Trimac. I've been to Byron for Bluesfest and at other times, it's a great place but was hoping to find somewhere less tourist driven. Not sure if there is a hub like that left anymore, maybe everything has been touched.

Bellingen is about twenty minutes from the coast, south of Coff's Harbour, it's like a slightly quieter version of Nimbin with a small but vibrant arts scene.

Some of the coastal towns near Byron like Nambucca Heads might be worth checking out.
