I would be cranky as well if my land was being overtaken forcing me into deadly situations and driving me towards extinction.
I don't believe they think that big. They get cranky over one branch of a gum tree when another koala gets too close. They hiss and swipe at each other and it's the only time I've seen them move fast - when they need to clobber another koala.

They are vicious, grunting, farting animals with enormous claws and spiteful bladders.
They are very cute though and are usually stoned off their little gourds so the above rarely matters. They sleep about 23 hours a day and root the other hour.
They are not in danger of extinction! We occasionally have to cull them in South Australia.

What data do you have that supports they are not on the road towards extinction? The more people reproduce the more land is taken away from the ecosystem which drives living systems towards extinction. If you have not noticed...humans are huge consumers and major polluters. This contributes to the imbalance of ecosystems.

Aww you don't like them...even the slow thinking critters deserve some love
They deserve love, but they are definately farting, smelly, balls of aggro.
Unfortunately, It's things like Chlamydia and an AIDS-like virus that are having the largest effect on the fuzzy critters. Though land clearing and road deaths are playing their part aswell.

No, I do like them. I think they're adorable. But reality is, they're not always mellow, pleasant or peace-loving. I saw a couple really go at it one time. Ear-pulling, scratching, snarling ... all because one got too close.
