Well, now that we've been told that race cars are noisey, I'm going to apply to the federal government for a $1 million grant to study the noise level of jet engines standing at the end of a runway when a bunch of 767's are taking off.
Jets take off one at a time; NASCAR puts 43 bad boys on the track all at once.

it might be the end of NASCAR if this gets out, or at least the end of several tracks they run at.....Look how many Local tracks have been shutdown over noise complaints....People will complain about anything and the results be damned...........
I can see sometime in the near future that Nascar will institute a muffler rule similar to Trans Am. Not as noisy as Nascar but they still sound pretty good.
I used to run open pipes on my 600 hp road race car because I loved the sound but after a while it's just noise. Race mufflers can actually increase HP in some cases.

The thing that pi--es me off about these complainers is they moved to where the track has been for decades, then started b!-*hing about the noise. It's like this, you don't want to hear the beauiful music of race engines, don't move to where you can hear the track that was there before your putz rear was born. Kind of like the morons (or wanting a handout useless waste of a person) that move into a house under the landing or take off pattern of a airport, then have the gull to cry about the plane noise and the planes flying over head every minute. There is no way they looked at that house before buying it and not notice an airplane every 45-60 seconds.
DUHHHH WHO PAID FOR THIS STUDY??? thats why everyone wears earplugs silly.Lets all ask for a grant to study the noise level. That way if they dont like the study they are reading sooner or later they will come across one they like. Then those who dont like those studies can ask for grant to study those answers. HEY we just started a back to work program for our people.
I want a study of why it's ok to have a vehicle that the engine is too quiet to hear? ( i SURE DON'T WANT ONE OF THOSE CARS!!!)
