Fans wear earplugs, drivers wear earplugs w/earphones (the only sensible thing stated) + helmets, and crews have headsets on so they can hear the crew chief and talk to each other.
Yet another journalist leaving out facts to skew their point.

At Bristol, I've always worn earplugs and a headset. May have helped some but I still couldn't hear for days.

where did they pick up this first grader's first try as a "reporter"or journalist?
My response of "DUUUUUUUUUUH" comes to mind...But you have to admit, they sound far better than the stuff legal on the street!!!

Well, now that we've been told that race cars are noisey, I'm going to apply to the federal government for a $1 million grant to study the noise level of jet engines standing at the end of a runway when a bunch of 767's are taking off.

hey, if you are going to apply for a grant, dont do a $1 million dollar grant, tha tit chump change. ask for $50 million to do the study. then you would get some respect.
