Former NASCAR Champ, Kurt Bush just could not keep up with eventual winner Will Kimmel at the Rockingham Suoer speedway.

Bush was running second when he pitted for chassis adjustments with about 30 laps to go. He restarted 22 but managed to get back to third before last years winner Chuck Barns running second brushed the wall and fell out, Bush made it back to second but Kimmel pulled away for the win while Bush faded.

And the best part is, Kurt Busch was driving a car built by Frank Kimmel's team several years ago.

Back in the eighties and nineties I used to race a sportsman car against Frank Kimmel and Chuck Barnes at the old Louisville Motor Speedway and the Sportsdrome Speedway in southern Indiana.

It was evident that Kimmell has just a tick more power than Barnes or Bush.
I also noted every time Bush went into turn one his car got a little squirrely it did not take a set like the other two cars faster than him. All in all it was a fun race to watch. The weather was perfect and I hope they don't go back to the New Years day date again.I'll be back next year.

Did you know that Chuck Barnes' son was one of the hopeful drivers on Jack Roush's Gong Show driver search a few years back?
