I'll miss the sucking sound the carbs produce when they stab the throttle but in the long run FI will be more efficient allowing for more HP.

FI is the future for NASCAR but I am a little concerned that NASCAR might decide to hand out control modules just like they hand out restrictor plates.
Each car will get a designated module to install prior to first practice. HMMMMMMMMMM

I've thought that too. I wonder if NASCAR plans EFI, mechanical, or a mix of both.

going to fuel injection is a problem. if you go EFI and let the teams use what ever module they wish, then the big money teams will have an advantage in that they will be able to put tons of money into software development. if nascar hands out the modules, then the conspiracy types will claim that nascar is going to be able to determine who wins races easier.

if they go with mechanical fuel injection, then while the playing field is level, there is no real gain in fuel efficiency, in fact there will be a loss of fuel efficiency.

staying with carbs is old technology and doesnt help the automakers with their research into better technology for street cars.

personally i would like to see nascar hand out the computers with a base program that the teams can then tune during the practice sessions, but the computers would be returned to nascar after the race.

I see no problem with NASCAR handing out control modules as long as the teams get to select a module from an unmarked collection of modules.
Will keep the conspiracy guys like me from complaining. (at least about the modules)

Random order of a module pick.

Isn't NASCAR going to an ethanol based fuel next year?
