VW in NASCAR? I'm picturing a slow VW Bus being passed by a bunch of Chevys, Fords, and Toyotas, just like when I see one on the freeway!

If enough people show up early to watch the sedans then maybe NASCAR could give them their own dates.
Sure would be a lot more entertaining than stunt shows or marching bands.

Make those cars run engines that come in the cars only race prepped. Bigger tires, Bigger brakes.

Everybody complains that NASCAR racecars are not stock cars and they are correct but lets see if people will pay to see real stock cars race.
Bring on the Foreign Manufacturers maybe they'll have better luck than the F1 drivers.
you mean like the daytona dash series?

They will NEVER run ovals in the rain - nor should they!

The technology used in NASCAR is so outdated that any company wanting to enter an engine into the nearly-spec NASCAR CUP series, would have to turn back their development clock about 20 years. Most current V-8 engines are overhead cam design - and NOBODY sells a car with a carb, or a 4-speed trans.

I can see VW entering into the IZOD series before entering NASCAR...

Toyota had to build or resurrect a foundry to cast the antiquated push-rod block. I suspect veedub would have to do the same.

And I was very surprised when Toyota did that! But since they have the only American-built model in the CUP Series, I think it was a good move for them! They have made the most of their involvement in NASCAR.

No they didn't. An aftermarket company makes them for toyota. VW actually still has a foundry that still produces pushrod engines.
