Anyone know/have or seen any info on this button. Talked with the son of the owner of the company that made these. Said that these were made in the 1960's before the Winston Sponsorship of Nascar.
It's a tough call.....I compared it to a lame black and white aerial view of the speedway I found in the Florida State Archives ( just google the archive site , type in Daytona Speedway and on page 4) there's a couple photos of the track right after it was built.
One of the problems is the red writing obscures some of the track features, like where exactly the road course is because the road course has been modified throughout the years. I would put it on a site called Karnac.com, it's FL racing specific and there are a lot of old timers on Karnac's forum who would either recognize it or have a lot of knowledge about DIS and how it looked back in the day.
It does not appear to match the road course on the Wiki image, but then the Wiki image isn't date specific either.
There are two on ebay with the information included. I just looked them up! I always look at ebay when I can't find info about some items! A great source of info!
If you don't find the information on the description you can probably ask the seller a question! Good luck.
Sorry I didn't reply but I have my 3 GK's here this week--10 months, 2 years amd 8 years--so I'm sure you understand...I'm holding the baby as I type. The other poster answered with what I would have anyhow!
