Forgot to add the extra time to the recording, sigh. For me the race ended up under red flag and I had to go to the internet to find out the results. Was surprised to see that HRT was allowed to start, based on their poor practice times.
I'm generally not a fan of Monaco (not since I watched the mid-90s rain-filled race that had 6 - SIX - cars finish) but the in-car was pretty exciting. More of a serious crash-fest than F1 usually is, too, which I don't care for.
Looking forward to Monday's Lime Rock race and the Australian Supercars I have recorded but haven't watched yet. Zero intention of watching the ovals this weekend.
I was surprised they were allowed to change tires while the race was red flagged. I think Alonso would have won if Vettel hadn't had a chance to get new tires.
Vettel spraying the royal guard in the face with champagne was awesome.
I think Vettell would have been very hard to pass in 5 laps with his tires allowed to cool;especially at Monaco. I really doubt Hamilton would have finished with that wing or possibly he would have been black flagged.I have no doubt Vettel is the real deal now watching his driving from quailfiying to race.

Yes, I am not sure how restarting the race for those 5 laps was somehow a "better" finish than just red-flagging it as it stood. It had that "engineered" feeling that I don't care for in other motorsports.
They all are suffering from boredom in selling modern motor sports . That is the reason for the required tire usuage;wing change and Kers. It had become all about the car in F1 and the races were a parade. Its hard to keep people watching if the passing is inthe pits;its a from of entertinment afterall. All racing is engineering or it would be wide open but no audience willing to watch.Certainly not poular as it was with american fans which like closeness under rules that are eqaul.Neat cars only go so far .
Most American fans like ovals, which I don't care for at all, so the preferences of other American fans doesn't interest me. I like watching cars go through the corners, not drive what look like endless freeway onramps.

Road racing is definitely interesting to watch, unfortunately open wheel racing on a road course does not allow for close racing( too easy to get the wheels entangled) This is why there is very little passing.
If you enjoy watching expensive cars follow each other then I guess F1 could be exciting. To most American racing fans passing is what is important.
I watch both especially since there is again more racing in F1 compared to former years. Monaco is more like a event than a great race for cars of the speeds today. One also has to rememeber that F1 has since the 60's been more about the cars themselves by nature of the formula than perhaps any racing.Perhaps that is why its appeals less to American race fans who just have a different taste in racing and why MotoGP is more liked by many.

I guess you haven't been watching much Formula One this season. Lewis Hamiltion had an absolutely masterful drive at the Chinses Grand Prix and there has been more passing than there has been in years.
