And why does this have anything to do with the tea party?
Time to take politics to another forum.

Military pilots need a certain number of hours to stay current I suspect that this helps with that requirement.

If it helps with their training and readiness requirement, I am all for it.

they are in the air long before the flyover at the stadium and have to time it so they're flying around wasting all that gas.

All aircrew are required to have a minimum amount of time behind the stick each month. So they would be flying somewhere anyway, so may as well do a flyover and give the Air Force, Navy or Air National Guard some added publicity.

BTW, it costs $181,000 an hour to fly Air Force One. Seeing that there are always two VC-25's (AF1) plus usually a C-130 to carry the Limo and Secret Service escort SUV's, I believe you are barking up the wrong tree with the statement about the Tea Party.

Also, it does not cost "10's of thousands of dollars to operate per minuet." to operate a fighter or any other military aircraft.
