Some thought it was disrespectful. Some were offended.

I thought it was pretty cool.

Boogity Boogity Boogity, Amen

Nothing better than thanking the lord for engines, gasoline, tires and especially
for a smoking hot wife.
Now that's my kind of preacher.

If I was a driver I'd be mad at him for making me laugh my off during a moment that is supposed to be serious.

It's been on every news and late night show. I think it's funny. I don't see why people think religion and prayer is supposed to be such a solemn, unsmiling thing. Isn't it a celebration?

A person once told me they were enlisting to become a chaplin in the army. I congratulated him saying I thought it was great he found something he loved to do. His bizarre response was it didn't matter if he loved to do it or not its what God wanted him to do.

When it comes to religion, there's no telling what people think or say.

Well, I didn't care for it myself. But, that's me. And who am I to say what's right or wrong for everyone else?

So, it's all good. (...And she's not smokin' hot!)

Anybody who calls their wife "smoking hot" on National TV weather she is or not knows how to score points big time.

From the ESPN website

NASCAR Nationwide Series prerace prayer another black eye for sport - ESPN

and a reader's response

"I had no issue with it. While it was different, and seemingly keeping with the stereotype if you want to go there, I thought: Hmmm, who's to say how others should pray? And if it got one single other person to think about going to church or opened them up that day to God, then is that bad?

And as far as the stereotype goes, **** em. I am far beyond caring what non race or non NASCAR fans think any more. No matter what I do or what NASCAR does is going to change their minds. If they think Talladega Nights is a realistic impression of NASCAR, then they also think that monkeys and dogs can talk and that Steven Seagal really is a former CIA agent."

I don't think she is either. But the fact that he obviously does, and she appears to know he's sincere, says a bunch about both of them.
