I'd like to see them remain close enough so that Homestead really means something. The last race of the year isn't much fun when the points leader just has to finish in the top 27 (or whatever) to hold the title. In those years, basically, anything short of a crash and the title is sewn up.

Go Smoke!

unless something bad happens to either carl or tony, you can bet it will go down to who finishes better at homestead. and while i would prefer to see carl win the championship, it would be nice to see another owner/driver win as well. alan kulwicki was the last one to do it.

It's amazing that Smoke has won FOUR races in the 'Playoffs'!! Except for Dover, he would have been well into the lead.

It's Smoke's Championship to lose. He has the momentum and the experience. Carl has to be nervous...it's never fun to be the guy being 'Chase(d)'.

Yea, but a little too much fun if you ask me. I am probably a bit old school but I prefer a lot less smack talk than Tony has been offering. It's like he turned into Mahuammad Ali and is trying to artificially hype the final race.

all that was missing at the press conference was the staredown with the trophy in the foreground.

If Tony wins it will not be the same as Kulwicki winning. AK was a low budget owner driver team with no help from the other big teams.
Stuart -Hass (sp) is just an offshoot of Hendrick with just as much technical support as any of the Hendrick teams.
