I can hear it now. It's a conspiracy to let Toyota win all the races...

I thought they already bought NASCAR. This explains MWR having two cars in the chase.
Is there anything that the Japanese/Asians are involved with that does not dominate that industry?
Cars
computers
video equipment
cameras
electrical equipment
clothing
shoes
appliances
furniture

How many Americans are unemployed yet we still support and buy all the crap we can from the Asians.

As soon as somebody loses their job to a foreign manufacturer let see how long they cheer on the Japanese teams in NASCAR.

If you still have a job here working for a major corp. hang in there and pretty soon you'll be replaced by some foreigner.

BTW, How many Japanese fans do you see at any NASCAR race?

How many rednecks have you seen flying the confederate flag on their pick-up.....................Toyota pick up?
Foreign companies are doing more for American manufacturing than American companies:
Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes, BMW, Honda, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen all have assembly plants in the states.

The way I read it, this is the only thing keeping Sprint from going bankrupt so yeah, I see it as a good thing.

At least it'll keep a lot of American workers employed who would otherwise be standing in the unemployment line.

NASCAR fans have always identified with car brands going way back. They cheer for their favorite driver driving their favorite brand.
Toyota never had a fan base because they never built any cars that were even remotely related to NASCAR stock cars. Their engines are a combination of Ford, GM and Dodge engines with the best of each incorporated into their own reverse engineered engines. This is what the Asian manufacturers do. They are great at copying and then improving on their copies.

And the reason there are no Japanese fans at NASCAR races is because they have little interest in car racing unless drifting is involved.

If for some reason Ford and GM dropped out of NASCAR and Honda, Nissan jumped in there would be no fans at the track.

I happen to also own a Japanese car but they don't belong in NASCAR.

And all those Americans working for foreign manufacturers in the USA they are working for 1/3 the wages that the American manufacturers pay.

The manufacturing facilities are located are traditionally union unfriendly where the workforce has some twisted romantic notion that being the low bidder is a good thing. So it's really their fault for doing the same work for a fraction of the pay.
I think you missed Gimmie's point in respect to Japanese fans, additionally there were wayyyy more white kids around here driving tuner cars than Asians when the fad was all too alive and well.

New hires at the Ford Louisville Assembly Plant 30 miles to the west of here making the new Escape start at $15.52 hr.

New workers at the Camry factory in Georgetown about 50 miles to the east start around $15.00 hr plus they don't have to pay the union.

Older article but shows what a worker with seniority makes.

But you're saying Toyota workers start at $5.17 hr?

There are fewer Americans now showing up at the races. Stands used to filled to capacity, not anymore.
