Its kinf of strange to me that Junior fans thnik a driver that has not really contended even for a chmpion ship deserves beig held over two drivers like Johnson and Gordaon who ahce repaetly done so. I say all drivers have to either put up or shutup.I can think of alot of young drivers i'd rather have than Junior except for popualrity which does say anyhting but hwe is his father's son;in reality.I like Junior but he has to prove he has what it takes and hasn't done that so far.
Been said before and I believe it to be true about Jr. He hasn't been the same since that fiery wreck in the Corvette back in '04 . Just seems he has lost the "nerve" to do this sort of sport, and I can't say I blame him. If that is the case with him, he should step out of the sport as a driver. Kinda hard to do though when you can make 30 million in a season without winning a race......straight cash homey!
I still think Jr has the nerve and want's to win. He does need to be a bit more aggressive, but he is third in points and that's not shabby. He will get a win this year before the Chase.
For Jr fans, winning is not everything. They are loyal to Jr. I'm a long suffering Cleveland sports team fan. I love the Browns, but they suck. Have sucked since I was a baby, although they did have a couple good years making it to the AFC championship games. I haven't lived in Cleveland area since 1982, but I still root for them. My dad rooted for them and my brother roots for them. It's pretty sorry I guess, but it's the same with Jr. His fans love him for who he is. As long as he keeps trying, he will have lot's of fans.
He was in it until Flatline (Kenseth) messed up and held back the outside line at the start of the last 10 lap segment. Once the inside row started passing him, there's no catching up from that in a 10 lap segment. But the 88 had a strong night and that was good to see.
Yea, Kenseth doomed himself and Jr with that restart.. to be honest no outside line restart had been strong but Kenseth's last restart was horrid. I think he spun his tires..
