I really like watching Touring car races on Speed Channel.

Even cheap-o touring cars would be miles above NASCAR.

I'd be all for the Econobox Cup.

Stripped Civics, Sentras, Corollas, etc. with roll cages would be pretty fun to watch.

You're pretty much describing Sports Car Club of America's Showroom Stock Class.

Speed TV does broadcast the various SCCA National Championship Runoff races each Fall. Check their schedule during the month of November and December for classes and times.
