I thought the same but then Tony took credit for the dumb move so who am I to deny Tony for admitting fault.

A replay does show Tony turning down on Waltrip.

MW had a serious head of steam and Tony mistimed it.

Really! OP must have had bad cable reception today!

What a shame that the day ended the way it did for most of the front runners. But, that's the way it goes at the plate tracks lately.

Yeah I reacted rashly, but in my defense look at all the stupid crap Michael Waltrip's done the last 3-4 years (wrecked himself coming out of the pits, dumped cars he was pushing during the tandem racing) and combine that with the fact he doesn't have much talent to begin with and it's easy to reach the same conclusion. If it weren't for him winning a couple of plate races for a team that at the time had a distinct competitive advantage, he'd be one of the biggest jokes of NASCAR.

And yet the France family is smiling all the way to the bank. The "new" NASCAR fans get the big one they want with 25 cars wrecked (new one crash record) so they will keep coming to the track. Meanwhile the car owners and sponsors can spend another 250K+ to replace each wrecked car.

I like what Jr said, "maybe NASCAR should be building these cars".

Maybe next year they should replace the plate chase race with a figure 8 race at some small track, same results.

That was on T-Stew, but that is the way this plate racing garbage goes.

But what's the solution? The plates are never gonna come off. No insurer in their right mind would write a liability policy for that. The odds of a car flying into the stands and killing hundreds of spectators is almost a guaranteed inevitability.
