Ah okay. Thanks! I'll miss Bob Varsha he held things together very well.

Haven't watched P2 from Melbourne yet, but the first hour of P1 was pretty laughable - it's the first race of the season! Excitement is high! Or it would be, if there were any cars on the track. Everyone waiting for someone else to go out and rubber in the track....

It would help if Leigh Diffey wore a Bob Varsha hairpiece:

Qualifying is apparently a mess - heavy rain. They ran the first round but then postponed the second and third rounds until race day. When (or if) this will be televised on NBCSports, I have no idea. Raceday will be cooler with a 20% chance of rain, so the race should go off well.

Laughing as just a few days ago it was 35deg in Melbourne then storms on Saturday. Finished Q2&Q3 today. Yesterday was crazy weather.

Redbull qualified 1&2

Would love for Webber to finally win at home.

Loving the non-stop live coverage from NBC Sports. They air the commercials on one side of the screen but you still see the race.

It was a great race. I stayed up until 3AM to watch it and I think NBC Sports is doing a good job with broadcasting. I still miss Bob Varsha but I think the new team will loosen up as the season progresses.

The tire situation was interesting, everyone was sure that a three pit stop race would be required so I think a few of the drivers abused their tires thinking this would be the case.

Also Sutil... Wow!!!

I thought McLaren would do better, looks like Hamilton saw the writing on the wall though and jumped ship. Mercedes so gas was much more impressive than last year.

Expected more from Red Bull but I knew they had telemetry problems and kers wasn't working at the beginning. Still, Webber had a terrible start. With the issue they had the team is saying that this was really the best they could have done.

Anyone know the reason Alonso and Hamilton don't like Vettel? The announcers stated that they consider themselves the two best drivers and Hamilton was interesting when it came to discussing Vettel on Top Gear. No doubt they're both excellent but Vettel has IMO proven he's pretty impressive. Sure he has an amazing car but he's pulled himself out of some really rough conditions to end well.

At the end of the day I'm still thrilled with the winner. He drove an excellent race.

What an AWESOME season opener!!

Very impressed with NBC's coverage too.
Just wish they blew up the commercial/race split-screen a bit instead of having the back-drop. Or less back-drop.
