Not fond of the schedule - 2 road race tracks and a bunch of ovals and street circuits - street circuits make for terrible races, with a lot of crashes and car (and human) damage, which is the absolute LAST thing I watch race coverage for.
Yeah I'd prefer to have more road course and oval races. If they ever start to gain popularity again we may see that. I am really happy to see that they shortened up the schedule so there isn't long breaks in between races.
Yeah street courses don't make it. No passing crash-o-thons. Be interesting see Busch pull the double race day. I thought it was impossible now because of the timing? Did they change that or did I misunderstand...?
It was for a while, but they moved the start time back to 12pm a few years ago to make this possible. Still later than the 11am start time that happened for a very long time.
Oh I see, cool! Always seemed silly when they switched it up so no one could do the double. IndyCar certainly had poor judgement when whatshisface was the leader. He couldn't get out of his own way.
It'll be interesting to see JPM back in champ cars. No idea how he'll actually do after all this time. Has to be a fairly difficult adjustment. It's a shame to see Max Papis still has no ride, not that I'm sure he wants one tbh. As usual there are too many foreign born drivers for the series to catch the eye of Americans. All the rookies are foreign born. I know that's not popular to say but it's true.

Yes, Indycar screwed itself for many years (really ever since USAC left) and they're still struggling to recover.
Yeah, I'm interested to see how Montoya will do as well. He is older now and hasn't driven open wheel cars for a long time. You're right about people wanting to see American drivers, I'm one of those people. When Ryan Hunter Rheay won the championship, it was actually getting coverage on the sports shows, yet when Scott Dixon won there was hardly a mention.
