I didn't know Edwards was added to Joe Gibbs racing during the off season. As a Matt Kenseth fan, I'm not too crazy about him & Kenseth being on the same team again. I never really liked Edwards. Though, it can't be any worse than having Kyle Busch as a teammate
at least kenseth has someone that he can work with again.

Good idea at least he would look like many of his fans.

The group qualifying fustercluck at Daytona is over with. Congrats to
Spoiler
Jeff Gordon
on winning the pole. Hoping NASCAR has enough common sense to realize that group qualifying has no place at Daytona and Talladega. Today's front row session was a joke.

I know if I was a member of the owners alliance I would be having some serious discussion with NASCAR about who is going to be footing the bills for these cars wrecked in qualifying. Go back to single car qualifying on the restrictor plate tracks. This way if you wreck it your own fault.

Stupid qualify rules that seem to appeal to the stupid fans.

Not taking anything away from today's survivors sitting on the poles but you were not the fastest cars on the track.

Earnhardt Jr wins 1st duel 150! He got a lot of help from teammates Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne, still he started from dead last and was near the front with in a few laps and was the dominant car!

Jimmy wins 2nd duel 150! Jimmy had zero help and had Gibbs cars riding his bumper all night but they never could pass him. Jimmy led the final 30 plus laps and was never really challenged. very impressive!

yes that is true, but remember that for the 500 itself, the temps will be about 35 degree hotter, which changes everything, and its going to be who makes the best adjustments to the changing conditions, and who stays out of trouble until the end that will determine who wins the 500. remember that warmer temps mean less consistency in the cars.

Because of NASCAR's screwed up qualifying system the tradition of the two fastest qualifiers starting on the pole/front row is now part of history.

Ricky Stenhouse and Matt Kenseth posted the fastest times during all the qualifying sessions yet get nothing for that other than to be just part of the field.

If you're gonna have qualifying races fine but forget the sham of pole position group qualifying.

No matter who wins we just have to wait for next week for the real racing to start.

You didn't miss much. Awesome run by Junior in the first race, but the 2nd was mostly follow-the-leader. Lead car has enough of an aero advantage to shuffle around and block any line that gets a run.
