Any real NASCAR fan knows what Joey did is expected. You get away with one block maybe. Earnhardt Sr. probably moves him out of the way after the 1st block.

Even Brian France called what Joey did a "quintessential NASCAR move".

Not even a comparison between the two incidences.
There's places to move people out of the way as well. Kansas, a very wide and high speed racetrack, is not one of those places. Bristol, Martinsville and to a lesser extent, Phoenix and New Hampshire.. Those are tracks where it is more acceptable to move someone out of the way.

I certainly don't approve of what Kenseth did.. But I certainly do understand it. Honestly, if it were Harvick that had been taken out by Kenseth, Hamlin, Newman or Earnhardt.. Or another dozen people who had their races ruined last week.. I would understand that, too. I actually expected that more. But.. It's a lesson learned. 2 of the final 4 races are at 'payback' tracks. If you want to make it to the end, you had better mind your manners along the way.

In a way, this was a statement that was actually overdue to be made.

That's the element of the chase nascar doesn't want to talk about. The integrity of the concept is based on part that guys who are locked in will have some sort of respect for those who are still fighting for a spot.

See Harvick, Kevin as another example of manipulation by elimination.

The whole thing is a joke.
kenseth set himself up to get spun at kansas because he was continually blocking logano. logano gave him a tap of the chrome horn and got him loose, so how was it longanos fault that kenseeth couldnt hold onto the car and keep it from spinning?

at kansas what happened was a racing incident between two drivers going for the win.

at martinsville however what happened was between the race leader and car one lap down taking retaliation for a perceived wrong done a couple of weeks earlier. and what logano did at kansas was not a vicious incident, but what kenseth did was vicious.

note that i am a kenseth fan over being a logano fan, though i like both drivers. nascar needs to set an example here and prevent these kinds of vicious attacks by suspending kenseth for the rest of the season. if kenseth appeals the suspension, then nascar can hear it, let him race next week, but then suspend him for two extra races next season for each race he participates in this season.

one more thing, kenseth is an experienced driver, and as such he could have figured a way to retaliate against logano in a manner that would have looked like a racing incident rather than making it look to all the world as payback.

A good driver in a faster car doesn't have to use the horn. Again, Logano had nothing to lose. If it is race 3 of the round, and neither are locked in, then race for the win and let the cards fall. And Kenseth could have mafe it look better? Really? Go back to having a champion based on a full season and this BS is eliminated.

1. He wasn't out of it if they could pull off a win

2. Brian France is an idiot. Nothing he says has any merit. He is doing everything possible to destroy what his grandfather and father built.

No body gets a free pass, you can't wreck somebody out of the chase and expect them to be rosy about it..
You must have missed a Charlotte race back around Jeff Gordon's rookie year. Jeff drove Ricky up the turn 3/4 wall and almost into it. Ricky pulled in behind Jeff coming out of 4 and jacked him up along the whole front stretch, they finally both crashed at the end of the front stretch ..... Ricky was a clean driver but you didn't want to **** him off.

So as it stands right now arguably the best team in NASCAR is probably not going to make the finals because of a vindictive jerk "getting even".

Can you believe Kenseth said Kesolosky wrecked him on purpose?
Yes that's just what you do when you are running for the championship.

That wreck is just more proof of why the chase should be done away with. Here are your points after Martinsville, sans chase:

1 Joey Logano............1213
2 Kevin Harvick..........1192 -21
3 Dale Earnhardt, Jr....1109 -104
4 Brad Keselowski.......1094 -119
5 Martin Truex, Jr.......1065 -148
6 Denny Hamlin..........1041 -172
7 Jimmie Johnson.......1033 -180
8 Matt Kenseth...........1009 -204
9 Carl Edwards...........1003 -210
10 Kurt Busch.............998 -215
11 Jeff Gordon............997 -216

It's not even that complicated. Fans like crashes and fights. That's all there is to it.

And one of, if not his chief rival, won't make it because the driver of the argubaly best car in nascar can't control himself when he has nothing to lose.

Look at the point standings Hollywood posted. Would anybody complain about that? I wouldn't. Granted, they would be a little different because the chase stupidiocy wouldn't have occured. But, it is a much better representation of how the season has gone.

Jeff Gordon is on Dan Patrick radio this morning. He said he is going to "take it easy" until Homestead. Logano needs to take a page from that book.

Gordon is saying its not so much the on track accident at Kansas, it was the way Joey acted afterward almost as if he was proud of it. He went on to say that was a lesson he (Jeff) had to learn, and Joey needs to learn as well. Good point.
