What France says in that interview is if you are in the chase, do whatever you want. If not, there are rules.

Have at it boys....

Just heard about this penalty on TV and thought I'd pop in to see the comments. Should be good!

As for me... I'm torn. I abhor the Toyota brand in general, (but I always had a respect for Kenseth). At the same time, I dislike Penke's punk drivers even more.

Oh well, I'm glad to see Flatline finally stand up for himself and take out the trash on Sunday.

Probation and points would have been a reasonable penalty. But, Sliced Bread's old man probably threatened Brian France to a fight if he didn't drop the hammer on Kenseth.

I think it's cut to 1 on appeal. With a slim possibility of it being cut to none.

Appeal will look at precedence, which will bite NASCAR in the butt. Because the most they have ever done was park a driver. yes, Jimmy Spencer was suspended for punching Kurt Busch years ago, but that's a different situation. They're going to look at the Gordon/Bowyer deal, and I can't see any way 2 races stands. Plus the fact that 2 back-packers did something similar and there was a wildly different penalty.

Gibbs gets to put Erik Jones in for a race, assuming 1 race is upheld.. Jones is going to be in that car in 2017.. Mark my words on that.

'bout what i thought..

the Danica penalty was odd though.. should have been a mirror image of Kenseth IMO.. but i guess the penalty changes depending upon the name above the door, like Kyle said..

Kyle was not wrong. Kinda lame. As usual nascar is reactive and not proactive.

The penalty was smaller due to the embarrassment of her futile attempt to spin out David Gilliland.

NASCAR should be embarrassed. They are so inconsistent and obviously trying to go with whichever way the wind is blowing.

She never even wrecked David.. she spun herself out and then busted her radiator.

She needs to learn that revenge is a dish best served COLD...

All phases of the penalty were upheld on appeal.. So, it's done.

Haven't heard official word yet, but, again, I will be shocked if Jones isn't in the car the next 2 races.

Bet Bubba Wallace is kicking himself for leaving Gibbs.. He'd have probably run 10 or more cup races this year.
