Who is the worst driver in NASCAR across the Cup, Nationwide and Truck Series. Active or not, for any reason.
I gotta go with John Wes Townley (aka John Wrecks Weekly) and Steven Wallace. Both look like pinballs on the track.
Neither would have had a ride if not for their daddy and his money.
Feel free to name more than one driver. I did.
John Wrecks is awful. Even his daddy's money couldn't overcome the cost of the cars he tore up while driving for Childress (a ride he had no business getting).
The Cope twins haven't made enough starts to tear up a lot of equipment but they are so slow that they're rolling chicanes on the track.
How about David Stremme? That guy has done jack squat in NASCAR yet he still has a ride. He's this generation's Michael Waltrip.
Dale Earnha...............Oh! You said worst driver, not the most over rated.
Brett & Geoff Bodine, I always felt Todd had the better potential of the 3, but the other two seemed to fall into better rides than they deserved.
Buckshot was late 90s/early 00s. Won 2 Busch Series races, drove part of a season for Petty Enterprises. Wasn't well liked in the Busch Series garage. Joe Bessey and Randy LaJoie were pretty public about their feelings toward him.
LaJoie would often needle Buckshot by calling him by his real name - Roy.

If we're only talking stock cars then yeah Geoff Bodine had a mediocre career, but don't be surprised if he ends up in the Nascar Hall of Fame in the next 20 years. Geoff is right up there with the likes of Richie Evans as one of the best modified drivers ever.
