Needless to say, qualifing has been cancelled for today.
Weather looks to clear out Saturday morning about the time we are getting there. Should be very nice the rest of the weekend.

Harvick and Keslowski on the front row.

Figured that was coming. Question now is will he come back, and will it be with Hendrick? I think he will, and will be with Hendrick. Or, or, or another scenario: Replace Waldrip on FOX, or Burton on NBC?

I figured this would be the case. Wouldn't it be interesting if the car made the chase and Jeff were to win it (again).
Wonder how that'd work out?

Best wishes to Dale, I'm still of the opinion he's done as a driver and will concentrate on running things and taking care of himself and family.
You've got to think that his dads death plays into this at some level...

Obviously Jr will be a big part of NASCAR for years to come, mostly as a owner, but he could also be in the TV booth.

Not sure if his career as a driver is over quite yet. Sure would like to see him take a victory lap next year. His fans deserve that. But of course his health is a priority.

Wont happen. Gordon wouldnt be able to make the top 30 in time, and Im not 100% sure they(Hendrick) even have the rest of the year figured out as to who is going to drive it. I see Gordo and Bowman splitting the rest of the year, or possibly HMS getting some other driver to fill in a good prtion of the remaining races.

While Jeff is my all time favorite driver, I don't think it would be fair to even have him in the Chase, since he is basically retired.

Sure would like to see him win a race this year though.

If Jr doesn't return next year, any ideas who might drive full time in the 88?

Too bad Carl Edwards is not available. He would be a good fit at HMS.

Carl would be a good fit! If Childress didnt have a strangle hold on his grandkids, I could see Ty Dillon going there for a few races, and maybe in the car full time for 2018, but grandpappy aint gonna have that! Not to mention, HMS isnt performing, and the 88 isnt performing, so possibly drop the team, or worse case, go back to it being the 25 car again, with washed up flunkies driving it.
