The logistics of moving cars, equipment and teams is often complicated and requires a lot of cooridination. Also the extra weeks of rest allow the drivers to maintain a peek level of concentration. Having races three weekends in a row would be extremely draining for all parties involved with the travel and practice and qualifying schedule.

As someone involved in a racing series that goes abroad a number of times, the sheer logistics in moving all this equipment is pretty ridiculous. I'm on the TV side of it and we'll ship 140 flight cases when we go abroad.

If they drive a max. of 50 rounds per track they can easily do that schedule.

During one of the last F1 broadcasts on SPEED, they mentioned that the USGP is on track for June 2012. Looking at the Austin temps, I notice that it's over 100 with a heat index of 109 this week and barely cooling off to 80 at night. I also see guesses that a weekend grandstand ticket is upward of $500 each, plus parking and all the rest.

I'll watch it from the comfort of my living room, thanks.

Well, F1 also offers something called the Paddock Club, where you can view the race while sitting comfortably in an air-conditioned room at the race track. Or, you can view it from some balcony, it depends. The only downside is that it's rather expensive - I think it's about $3000.

As far as the race track is concerned - it's going according to plan, so the USGP is definitely on track: AUTOSPORT PLUS - A trip out to Texas: How the US GP venue is shaping up

2017 Schedule:

1.Melbourne, Australia (26 March)
2.Shanghai, China (9 April)
3.Sakhir, Bahrain (16 April)
4.Sochi, Russia (30 April)
5.Barcelona, Spain (14 May)
6.Monte Carlo, Monaco (28 May)
7.Montreal, Canada (11 June)
8.Baku, Azerbaijan (18 June)
9.Spielberg, Austria (2 July)
10.Silverstone, UK (9 July)
11.Budapest, Hungary (23 July
12.Hockenheim, Germany (30 July)
13.Spa, Belgium (27 August)
14.Monza, Italy (3 September)
15.Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (17 September)
16.Marina Bay, Singapore (1 October)
17.Suzuka, Japan (8 October)
18.Austin, USA (22 October)
19.Mexico City, Mexico (5 November)
20.Sao Paulo, Brazil (12 November)
21.Abu Dhabi, UAE (26 November)

Doesn't make much sense to me.
For example going from China to Bahrain, from Canada to Azerbaijan, from Japan to USA and from Brazil to UAE.
Why not just stay in the same region?

Do you guys know if there are any circuits that will come back in the future? or new circuits getting build?

I like to see Nurburgring (Hosted 38 F1 Races) and Buenos Aires (Hosted 20 F1 Races) coming back plus a race in France, Finland, South Africa and New Zealand.

Every F1 World Champion (Fangio, Prost, Hakkinen, Scheckter, Hulme) deserves a F1 Grand Prix in their Country!

Tracks they should ALWAYS keep imo are Monza, Monaco, Silverstone, Spa, Montreal, Hockenheim, Sao Paulo, Suzuka, Spielberg, Barcelona, Melbourne and Austin.
