Today's good news is Mike Waltrip claims this Daytona 500 will be his last NASCAR race.

Talk about self-sabotage. MW was arguably a sponsor's dream spokesperson and he blew with local level antics. Shame.

Ignore the troll, it adds nothing. It will go away if left hungry.

Kyle Petty also drove his first race in an ARCA event at Daytona, which he won in one of Richard's old Cup cars from the year prior. He then made his Winston Cup debut a little later that season. Meanwhile, Earnhardt Jr was racing short tracks and spent a few seasons in the Busch Series. The two were brought up totally different.

Neither one of them are as good as their fathers, and they shouldn't have been expected to be. But it comes with the territory.

I like Kyle much better as an announcer than I ever did as a driver.

NASCAR isn't eliminating the chase. It just has another name. Playoffs.

WE'RE TALKING ABOUT PLAYOFFS?!?!

Lipstick on a pig.

It will be interesting to see if Suarez is an immediate contender.. he was in XFinity but any body in a Gibbs car will be favored on that circuit.. I suspect he struggles early but would not be surprised to see him in Victory Lane this year.. All of the Gibbs cars win and win often.. Carl will be missed, but IMO, Suarez can easily pick up the baton and run with it.. plus he might be the ONLY GIBBS driver that I root for! I said, MIGHT!
