Did I hear the announcer say the girl who sang the National Anthem was from Taydona, Florida? I replayed it and it still sounded like that. At any rate....glad it's time to go racing again!

Attendance for the clash is rumored to be around 15,000

That's.. Scary bad, if true. Even for a rain delay.

Yep. It wasn't all that long ago the stands would be mostly full for Clash day and qualifying. NASCAR is getting by with the big TV deal they signed a few years ago, but there is a day of reckoning coming unless things turn around fast.

I decided to save some money and drop the package that had FS1 and NBCSN on it. The only reason I had those channels was because of NASCAR. Last year I didn't watch as much and I see no reason to watch more this year. I'll catch the ones of the main broadcast stations...maybe.

Also catch the "rewind" or whatever it's called the next morning on the web.

Every year I am quite enthused about the start of NASCAR.

This year I have lost about half my enthusiasm.

I started to like NASCAR the way it was last year but then France has to stick his grubby fingers in and change it again.

Stopping the race at segments and interviewing the drivers?

What BS !

Can't see this new system helping much. I expected more in-your-face monster energy drink stuff, maybe that's saved for the actual race.

I guess if the naysayers repeat the gloom & doom philosophy long enough eventually they will be right.
