Dave Rogers and this "leave of absence" thing.. That's getting weird.. The way I'm reading things.. I don't think he's coming back.

I'm sure it'll bring out some more conspiracy theories about him going with Carl Edwards to run Dodges next year or something.

Oh, and Sam Ard passed away today.

Another good one that too many people don't know about. He was the first dominant star in the Busch series. Won something like 22 of his 92 races. 79 top 10's.. Think about that. 79/92.. that's nearly 86%

His whole life was tough.. Forced to retire due to injuries and then the double whammy of Parkinsons and Alzheimers in his later years. Kyle Busch donated over $100k to his family back in '08 when he broke Ard's single season win record.

Not a bad race at Martinsville. Stenhouse Jr is lucky Kyle Busch has used up his punch for the month. That move by a back marker might have cost him the race. Lap down cars should never be allowed to move the leader. Stenhouse should have been given a lap penalty at the least. Kyle could pay him back but Stenhouse will never actually be in the lead. Ha. Small crowd again.

I would say the track was about 1/2 empty yesterday. I was surprised to look around and see so many silver, empty sections of grandstand.

But, it did make traffic a little better after the race!

Was at the race, have been going for around 14 years, was the smallest crowd I believe I have seen there. Sad.

I would have thought that this race would have seen more fans........definitely better racing than the long speedway tracks where the races last an eternity.

I enjoyed watching the rubbing and bumping............everything else like segments, pit road speeding and losing the ability to fix a car in five minutes I could care less about, just more things to take away from pure racing. Trying to figure out tires, gas, and cautions all to facilitate positioning your car for segments in a race that has quite a few laps to go seems crazy.

As we all have discussed NASCAR really needs find out what needs to be done to jump start the fan interest again.

Like Blockbuster Video found out............time is short

I think I'm going to start concentrating more on World Of Outlaws racing...

Get a shovel.

The use for it I'm not sure.. Whether it's digging up Bill Jr or using it to put Brian in the ground. I think either would be acceptable.

Oh remember the good ol' days when the race came on tv? They talked for a couple of minutes, they showed the invocation and the anthem, and then the drivers hopped into the cars and they raced.

Now it's pre-produced, repetitive bits on the drivers, the talking heads trying to hype up the inevitable upcoming snoozefest, add in a bunch of commercials, throw in a singer or band that most have never heard of, parade the drivers and families, go to the pit road reporters for more incessant blabbering about nothing, throw in even more commercials, don't forget the audience participation survey on who's going to win today, and then maybe start the race.
