Did they send too many people or is it one of those situations where someone extra went over the wall to service the driver or grab a tire or something simple like that? Where the extra person wasn't really involved in the repair?

So.. How do they determine that you're "on the clock"? Someone is in an incident and a fender is pushed in.. They send an extra person over the wall.. They pull the fender out, but outside of that it's a normal stop? Is there a definition as to what puts you 'on the clock'?
once oyu pull into the pits and start repairing body damage, you are on the clock. in kenseths case, one guy started over the wall, the stopped and sat on the wall for a few seconds, then jumped out and started to help on the drivers side of the car, and nascar called them on it. tough break and someone got a chewing out for that.

The rationale is if the only penalty was "End of the longest line" the crew would send 20 guys out to do repairs.
They can send a 7th guy out to do "driver service" like hand him a water bottle or tear off a windshield layer.

i think if wallace runs well, and supports the sponsors the team has, then i think that team should not have too big a problem landing a good sponsor. we shall see.
