Given Lutz's GM career, I'd take his prognosticating with a huge dose of salt. In 20 years MAYBE in a few very large cities in the downtown or most crowded urban areas there might be what he is talking about, but it would take massive infrastructure improvement of a kind the US is no longer willing to pay for or maintain.

The place the driverless thing will start is in the trucking industry, the personal car will be the last thing.

Hahaha on Lutz.
The two truck train is just about ready to start. I've seen articles on TV that show a supervisory driver in the lead truck over the road, then another driver takes over the second truck near the destination.
