I know they changed the engine from Mercedes to Honda 3 years ago but that's no excuse, McLaren won 4 titles in a row with a Honda engine from 1988 to 1991 with Senna, Prost and Berger (I know, great drivers but so is Alonso).

I think Mercedes should've signed him instead of Bottas, he deserves better in his last couple seasons of his career or even go back to Renault, join Hulkenberg and make Palmer 3rd driver (worst driver in F1 right now?), then Kobayashi, di Resta or Nasr could've joined McLaren.
I think they are in denial. They are working like a top team when they haven't been one for four years. They thought their problem in 2014 was that they weren't a "works team", so they brought Honda to become one... I think they had and still have other problems bigger than their engine supplier.

I think Mercedes was conservative because they didn't want two roosters in one cage. Lewis is now the undisputed #1 driver in the team. Bottas won't be anywhere near him, but he'll be reliable to collect points towards the constructors championship.

Alonso must be deflated for sure... they sold him on a 3 year incremental approach to a third championship, and this could be the wors year of the three. I feel for him.

Home of Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport
Brackley, situated 70 miles northwest of London, has been the home of the modern Silver Arrows since the return of the Mercedes-Benz works team to Formula One in 2010.

Before that, the facility was home to Brawn GP, who won the 2009 Formula One World Championships with Jenson Button and Mercedes-Benz engines. After Brawn GP's takeover by Mercedes-Benz, the Brackley factory subsequently became the home of the MERCEDES GP PETRONAS Formula 1 team (now known as Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport).

In five shifts, more than 700 employees work 24 hours a day, seven days a week on design, development and manufacturing activities. More than 250,000 working hours go into the design of a Formula 1 car, and a further 200,000 hours plus are spent on production. Only during the two-week summer break and on Christmas Day do the workshops in Brackley fall silent..

This is awesome!!! And with Andretti you can be sure he'll have a decent car. Won't miss this year's Indy 500 for anything.

A pretty good race. This year might be much better.

As much airtime the hyperventilating announcing crew gave to Hamilton's catch up attempt at the end, they never once mentioned that Vettel could be milking the lead, which of course is exactly what he should have been doing. Vettel was just as fast as Hamilton during the rest of the race and he didn't seem to be having car trouble at the end.

At the podium interview he even said he was controlling the race at the end. I believe him.

With the new car configuration, on most tracks this one included, you can catch up to a slightly slower car but it is almost impossible to pass.

I might have missed one or two this morning, but I don't recall seeing a single on track pass for position.

Since they are the ones who made the race possible, it certainly isn't surprising.
