I hadn't been following motorcycle racing much due to losing TV coverage, saddened to learn Nicky has died from injuries received in a cycling accident.

I saw this and wanted to post something but didn't know where. Very sad. Nicky was a cool guy. Crazy talented rider.

No doubt he was a talent. It was always kinda fun watching an American dirt-tracker mix it up with MotoGP's best and give a good account of himself. Just seems strange it was a bicycle crash that took his life.

This is a shame. One of the true greats. That 2006 season vs Rossi was fantastic.

Strange how regular life tragedies like this and say Shumi's accident can happen to those with what you would assume dangerous careers would have been more likely.

I think Mike Hailwood's death was the first one that really got to me in that respect. I sometimes wonder if there's lesson to be learned, that our heroes are above all else just mere mortals like us all? Personally, I think it great incentive to follow your passions, no matter what they be, they're likely no more dangerous than anything else.
