Same happened to Cale during the 84 Firecracker 400. The video will show him battling with Petty to get to the yellow flag (and the checkers came out a lap later I think). But Cale forgot and thought that WAS the battle to the checkers. So he pitted from 2nd on the next lap. I believe Harry Gant got credited with 2nd place in that race. Cale ended up 3rd.

Most NASCAR tracks will not publish attendance figures, but I would be surprised if TMS had half of their 112k capacity at Sunday's race.

In some areas of the grandstands, less than a third of the seats were filled. Whole rows were empty or nearly empty.

I'm a sportscar fan, don't care about NASCAR. Other than it will be neat to see Kyle Busch get to 200 overall NASCAR wins.

I HATE HATE HATE DESPISE LOATHE and COMDEM. Their stupid race segments. How about they just run 2 250 mile races! One on Sat and one on Sunday. You can then spread the Grand National series to other tracks around the nation.
