Starting in January, the Daytona 24 is shaping to have a great field. The prototype class will have more than 20 cars on the grid. Headlined by the Penske Acuras with Dane Cameron, Ricky Taylor, Helio CastroNeves, Juan Pablo Montoya, Simon Pagenaud, and Graham Rahal. The driving lineup is stacked. But there will be I think 4 Cadillac teams who looked real good in 2017. The WTR team is the defending champs. They will have Jordan Taylor, Renger Van der Zande, and Ryan Hunter Reay in their driver line up. Also the Joest Mazda and ESM Nissans will surely be contention too along with Oreca based LMP2 teams from WEC stallions Rebellion and Jackie Chan/DC racing (2nd overall and LMP2 Le Mans winner.
GTLM will be the usual battle between Ford GT, Ferrari 488 (Risi for sure. Hopefully AF Corse will be there), Corvette C7R, R.L.L. BMW M8, and the Porsche 911 RSR. Ford won Daytona in 2017. I hope they will have 4 cars again. Porsche will bring back Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy from the LMP1 lineup. All the driver line ups are stacked here.
GTD will be a grid full of GT3 cars and I think that grid will be as large as IMSA allows it to be. But you'll see Ferrari 488, BMW M6, Audi R8, Lexus RF, Acura NSX, Mercedes AMG, Porsche 911, and Lamborghini Huricans.
