Terrible coverage with the split screens, like trying to watch a race on a 19 inch TV. Actually it sucks.

I enjoyed both the Xfinity and Cup finale's this weekend. Neither had my fav driver in the final 4 but both of the drivers I was pulling for won... just by chance i suppose. Weekends like this make me want to be in Miami for the finale vs the few races i typically attend (Daytona, Atlanta, Talladega). Eventually, when i retire, i will be able to go see a bunch more races including the finale.. assuming Nascar is still running.. I didn't really get a good shot of the stands for Cup but they were thin on Saturday for Xfinity.. which is no surprise since Xfinity doesn't pull a ton of viewers especially when no Cup drivers are in the field. Personally, i prefer no Cup drivers but i understand why they have to do that..

Daytona is 3 months away..

State of NASCAR.

NASCAR held their usual year end press conference before the Homestead race Sunday. They basically said anything is on the table as far as changes to make NASCAR more fun to watch and bring back lost and new eyeballs.

For 2019 the rules package is supposed to bring better racing on the track.

For 2020 shorter races, double headers, more short track racing, mid-week race, less "cookie-cutter" tracks etc... is possible. They also floated a double-header with Indy Cars. Universal naming rights may go away to allow a "bundled" naming right.
