i believe too, no.1 and no.2 driver in renault is less significant than in redbull.

ok, so daniel is happy now, how about poor alonso?
i hope he is smart enough to leave mclaren to hass or maybe redbull!
i guess alonso will have some moment regret he not join renault 1-2 years ago, unless he is looking his bank balance more than f1 news

Red Bull's 2010,11,12,13 Constructor titles say otherwise.

Yeah, I don't know that swapping the large positive of having Adrian Newey on your side for the unknown quantity of the Renault engine will work out well. Then again, it seemed ill-advised when Lewis left McClaren to join Mercedes and that didn't work out too badly for him. It's very possible Ricciardo has seen things at Renault that aren't public knowledge yet.

Red Bull has had overheating problems before, allegedly due to Newey's designs. Renault keeps claiming there is nothing wrong with their units, it is a Red Bull issue, so who knows, maybe a) there is a problem with the aero design and getting air flow through the units and/or b) Renault is desperate to claim they don't have a problem.

I guess Lance Stroll won't be leaving F1 anytime soon. Pay drivers these days...

Well, he stated that it was one of the most difficult decision he's had to make in his career and nobody saw this coming so you're probably right. Something's there to tip the balance in Renault's favor. Would that 20m/yr paycheck be enough if he didn't think it would advance his career?

Personally, I'd like to see Lance stroll on over to Force India and see Kubica get a seat at Williams.

I don't know, Newey designs managed to win four consecutive championships with Renault units so it's not as if he's some new kid on the block.

wow.. so will the team name change to force canada in 2019

wooww (#2 ) ..., everyone love m$$lah don't they
daniel got 35 million on his new contract. congrat!
maybe previously(for recent contract) max got 3.3 times higher than daniel, but now is payback time.... and daniel 3.5 higher than max. awesome!!!
but... i wonder is renault crazy or not
in that salary range should be in world champion class driver. daniel even is not a world champion contender ever in his career, don't he?

i thought daniel is different than alonso, who prefer money () than car performance. but now i think he is same like alonso.
will daniel miss glamour life at redbull(his recent redbull video usa road trip)than at renault, maybe not, i don't know

So Alonso is leaving F1 at the end of the season and probably going to Indycar. Might make me watch all of the road and street course races next year (really dislike watching oval track racing in any format).

With Brawn saying F1 could go electric within 10 years I have to wonder if F1 has a future. Personally I'd like to see F1 cars simplified and their electric side eliminated, might encourage a few more teams to enter the game.
