I have seen many videos of drag racings in the US and I would like to see them in real life if I would have a chance to travel there, I am from Spain. I don't know anything about this world, where are these kind of events available? I assume that there are legal and illegal races, I am refering to legal races, not in streets, in circuits (tracks) with places to seat and enjoy them. How much money can cost? The kind of cars I would love to see: Chevrolet Bel-Air, Chevrolet Chevelle, Plymouth Hemi Cuda, Pontiac GTO 65, ... basically american mucle cars.

Check nhra.com for sanctioned tracks as well as a national event schedule. Along with your desire to see muscle cars I'd highly recommend attempting to make it to a national event, there are simply no videos/movies/recordings that do the spectacle of Top Fuel Dragsters and Fuel Funny Cars justice. The ground shakes and if you're sitting at half-track or so they launch so hard you'll see the cars move before the sound of the throttle being floored reaches you.
both of these sanctioning bodies have lists of tracks around the country they are affiliated with. in addition try this site Dragstrip Finder they list drag strips around the country by state including phone numbers so you can contact the track and find out when events are set up.

The only other automotive thing I've seen that compares with nitro cars for spectacle was the late Sammy Miller and his rocket car Vanishing Point. It didn't launch hard but would gather itself up and live up to its name. I saw it live and had some difficulty believing someone somehow didn't figure out a way to speed up our view of reality, it definitely had an other worldly quality to it.

There actually are a quite a few different drag racing organizations in the United States and literally thousands of tracks across the country. NHRA and IHRA are the biggest two that run nitro fuel vehicles (dragsters and funny cars with flames shooting out of the pipes). Most others organizations run more regular style door slammers (conventional looking cars built to race). If you primary interest lies with classic muscle cars, the National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) is probably one you would want to watch.
However, since you are in Spain, this will require a special trip. If you are coming to the US just for races, then you can search for a race in a local with reasonable airfare and hotel prices. If you are coming here for something else, then you can search around your location to see if there are any tracks nearby and see if they have a schedule compatible with your own.
If you want to stick with your own continent, there are races in England, Sweden, and Germany that cater to vintage US muscle cars. Santa Pod in England regularly runs events as does the track in Sweden. Germany I'm less sure about, and I know there are some US muscle car shows in Switzerland form time to time as well.

I couldn't agree more. I've been a fan of drag racing since I was a teen but despise bracket racing and the NHRA format... with the exception of Top Fuel... nothing compares.
Check out some of the small tired drag radial classes. Most are running 1/8th mile , but the fast guys are doing 3.50's at 220mph. The few times a radial car runs the full quarter , they are going 5.70's at over 250. Think of that, a door slammer car that looks like a 10 second car, on a drag radial is running fast enough to qualify on a Top Alcohol funny car ladder.
